More bears!!!!!

Today when i awoke from my slumber and tried to get up to go to the bathroom, i realized that i was about thrice as sore as i was yesterday. As soon as i got to my feet my quads comletley collapsed and i fell back to the bed where i stayed for another hr before i got the courage to get up again. Shelli decided that she didn't want to hike by herself, so she would just have to not hike today. We went to a really cool little breakfast joint that was right down on the water in downtown Anchorage. Our food was really tasty, shelli had tofu, and i had reigndeer.... So, if santa is late getting to you house this year, you can blame me, and Alsaska. Did i mention that Blitzen was really tasty? mmmmmm..... Anyway, after than we spent the rest of the day tootling around downtown Anchorage and some other places. Jared got out of school in the afternoon and when we picked him up he and shelil decided to get some excersize in, since they had not burnt their usual 40,000 calories for the day. So we went to a some road that led up to a old ski hill. I dropped them off at the bottom and then drove the 6 miles to the top. I went to the top and took some pics and they ran up the hill like idiots,,, i told them they could have ridden in the car but they thought it would be more fun to run. Once they got to the top we headed back down. Just as we came around a corner Jared pointed out that we could just barely see Denali, which was over 200 miles away (and the highest peak in the US at 20320 ft). Just as he said that I noticed a small black thing on the side of the road and i realized that it was a black bear cub. He headed directly into the woods as we slid to a halt and backed up to try and find him. We got out and as we looked for him we heard something up on the other side of the road. As I turned around I saw that it was his mother and her other cub on the opposite side of the road, and we were now in between a Moma bear and a cub!!!! I'm sure it looked like an episode of Dukes of Hazard as we slid, scrambled and dove our way back into the car as fast as we could. As soon as we were back inside, the little guy headed across the road to his mom. Once they were reunited, they didn't seem to be in any hurry to head out and they just sort of sat there in the woods and watched us watch them for a bit. When they headed out, so did we. Four bears in 2 days..... AWESOME!!! Jared thinks that we are somekind of good luck token due to the fact that we have seen a grizz, a black bear with cubs, and Denali (which is pretty rare from what he told us) all in a few days. I hope the rest of our trip is this lucky
